Pre Retirement

Pre Retirement Planning is about thinking about your likely needs in retirement. This is not always the easiest thing to do especially when you have children still at home.

However a useful first step is to estimate how much annual income you require in retirement. It can be broken down by month or week if that is easier. So whatever income you need, whether $30,000 a year or $80,000 a year, becomes the starting point for retirement planning.  You can then estimate the amount of capital you require to support that income.  Other factors need to be considered such as any age pension entitlement.

Through preparation of a financial plan we can determine the most appropriate strategy to reach your retirement goals whether that be through salary sacrifice to superannuation or a debt reduction strategy.

A Transition to Retirement (TTR) Pension may also be appropriate dependant on your requirements.

The most important factor to remember is to ensure that you have a plan in place to achieve your financial goals so that you retain control in planning for your retirement.
Ethos Financial Advisers focus on ensuring your capital will last throughout your lifetime and provide capital to your estate should you wish this to occur.
