The First Meeting & How We Charge
The initial meeting with Ethos Financial Advisers is an introductory meeting. We will provide further detail on how we operate and how we can help you. There is no charge for the first meeting and there is no obligation on your part.
As an Australian Financial Services Licensee (AFS 287660) we are required to provide you with our Financial Services Guide (FSG). Our FSG provides detail on the services we provide and how we charge for those services. We will provide you with a hard copy of the FSG at our initial meeting.
The fact finder document is used as an information gathering tool. Please complete the fact finder prior to our meeting if you have time. There is no need to complete the fact finder in full however you may find it beneficial in any event. If you could bring with you the latest statements for your superannuation, investments and insurances that would be most helpful.
Once we have an understanding of your requirements we will let you know what our services will cost. We charge for the initial advice on a fee basis and will let you know the exact fee at the initial meeting.
The only exception to the fee basis for providing initial advice is insurance advice. Insurance such as life, income protection and trauma insurance is one where the commission is linked to the product. We will still charge a fee for the provision of advice however our expectation is that the fee is offset by the commission we receive and there is therefore no out of pocket expense for you other than the insurance premium.
At the conclusion of the meeting you can instruct Ethos Financial Advisers to prepare a financial plan or decide later. It is entirely up to you.
Once you have instructed us to prepare a financial plan we will generally schedule a meeting with you to present the recommendations to you. Dependant on the complexity of your situation one or more additional meetings may be required.
